Canada is an expensive country, but its civic services are of the highest standards.
During Christmas, a family from Karachi had gone to Canada for a holiday. It included a couple, their 2 children and the man’s father.
After 3 days in Toronto, they hired a car to go to Montreal.
The freeway is just superb with Highway 401’s world’s widest segment has 18 lanes passing.
An 80+ Canadian lady was in a car behind them, keeping a safe distance.
The kids had knelt on the back seat, looking behind and would often wave to the Canadian lady who would smile and wave back.
Suddenly the Canadian lady saw the head of an old man emerged out of the back seat window and vomited blood.
She stopped her car on the side and immediately called 911 for help.
Very soon, an Ambulance Helicopter appeared.
It landed a kilometer ahead. Signaled the family to stop the car, and in no time trained medical staff had taken the old man into the chopper that was almost an ICU. Oxygen supply started. Heart rate and other parameters were monitored. A specialist MD was on video call from Toronto to provide instructions.
In half an hour, the old man was declared safe and fit to travel again.
Kudos to quick help and timely action of the Canadian lady.
For these services, the man was charged $ 3,500. A lot of money for a middle class Pakistani family. With the unplanned financial expenses, the Karachi man was in shock and blasted his father.
