Western Support for Ukraine=Predominance of World, says Lavrov

“The long-standing struggle of peace talks between the two countries have launched and then faltered multiple times but none of that can come through since the US has constantly stopped Ukraine from moving further,” Lavrov said.

At a recent interaction with journalists, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov equated the US-led Western support for Ukraine to a quest for an unchallenged predominance of the World. Let there be no misunderstanding, Lavrov said. This is not out of sympathy for Ukraine but to deny (Russia, and China) the right to protect their legitimate political and economic interests, he said.

Russia has long asserted that it is leading a struggle against the United States’ dominance over the global stage. Any negotiations for peace in Ukraine, according to Lavrov, must center on establishing a “new global order” and take into consideration Russian interests and concerns as well.

The long-standing struggle of peace talks between the two countries have launched, and then faltered multiple times but none of that can come through since the US has constantly stopped Ukraine from moving further, Lavrov added.

Lavrov said that despite numerous attempts to advance the protracted conflict of peace talks between the two nations, none of them have succeeded since the US has consistently prevented Ukraine from doing so.

Additionally, Russia and China are stepping up their efforts to diversify away from the dollar as a result of the sanctions placed on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and the growing hostility between Washington and China. As a result of this, the US is now more willing to exercise its growing influence and authority in the region.

Below is Lavrov’s speech at the news conference in Moscow

I’m sure you have heard not only what you quoted now but also the statements repeatedly made by NATO leadership, American leadership, French leadership, German leadership, and British leadership. They say one in the same thing. It is not time for negotiations. Ukraine must win on the battle feed.

Russia must suffer strategic defeat on the battlefield, and only after that conditions for the negotiations would be ripe. I am also sure that, being a journalist, you know that in September last year, Zelensky passed a decree prohibiting anybody in the Ukrainian government, to have any negotiations with the Russian Federation so the fact that people keep asking us when Russia is going to be ready for negotiation, really does not do credit to the people, who raised these issues, especially, in the mass media group.

Indeed, it is not about Ukraine as you said, it is about a new world order. In my opening, I gave the analysis of what is going on, statements by Stoltenberg, for example, who repeatedly said that the victory of Russia would create an existential threat to the dominance of the West.

Prime Minister Maki of Poland yesterday, if I am not mistaken, said, If Russia wins, this would be a disaster for the West for many decades. It’s clear what the West thinks about the current situation. Ukraine, was used as a spending material, and the stake of the West is not to allow a single event to cast doubt on its claims to dominate the world order. So, this is as simple as that, and if everything is going to be limited in the minds of some people, to the resumption of talks between Russia and Ukraine, then nothing will be resolved.

First, we did have such talks in March, but the Ukrainians backtracked because the Americans told them it was not the right time. Keep fighting. And second, it is not going to resolve the situation because it is not about the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. It’s about the Western geopolitical struggle for dominance, for the prevention of the creation of the multipolar polycentric. So, we have many interesting events and developments in front.
