Matrix Report
Chinese foreign policy and Sino-Pak relations are highlighted in a new book authored by Imtiaz Gul. The Chinese envoy hails the effort.
His Excellency, Nong Rong, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, in his keynote address, said the book What Lies Behind the Iron Brotherhood is an excellent resource—built on Mr. Imtiaz Gul’s understanding of the Chinese foreign policy and the Sino-Pak ties. He was presenting a key note address at the book launching ceremony of the book here in Islamabad. Following is the text of his keynote address:
I am very glad to be invited to the book launch ceremony. First of all, I would like to congratulate Mr. Imtiaz Gul for writing and publishing this wonderful book, What Lies Behind the Iron Brotherhood. This year marks the 70th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic ties. Both sides have held a series of celebrations while the publishing of this book presents another gift for this special occasion- a good testament to our unique friendship.
Chinese Foreign Policy & Sino-Pak Ties: A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed
The book also elaborates on the successful joint journey of China and Pakistan, despite the twists and turns of global politics and help people get to know the real nature of our bilateral relations. The message given by the book is very clear i.e., the bond between China and Pakistan is fostered and strengthened during the seven decades of friendship, sacrifice, support and cooperation. Taken today’s global fight against the Covid-19 Pandemic for example, China and Pakistan have shown the world with concrete action as “what is a friend in need is a friend indeed”. There are too many stories to tell in this regard.
Anyone who wishes to truly understand the deep bonds tying us together is suggested to read this book and find the answer himself. The day after tomorrow is the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. And this year we also celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. General Secretary, Xi Jinping has made a solemn declaration that China has realized the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and it’s now marching in confident strides towards the second centenary goal of building a great modern socialist country in all aspects.
The Principles of The Chinese Foreign Policy
China has embarked on a new remarkable journey and will make greater contribution towards peace and development. Chinese foreign policy adheres to equity and justice, stand against imposing one’s own will on others, interfering in other countries internal affairs and practice of strong bullying the weak. Putting simply, China will stick to win-win and mutual beneficial cooperation that provides the world with new opportunities through China’s new development progress. On our way forward, we are very fortunate to have Pakistan on our side and we always put Pakistan as our priority for cooperation.
Pakistan is a resilient country with a rich history and splendid culture. Since independence, the government and people of Pakistan have worked hard and have scored great achievements in the course of development and is on its way to realize the Naya Pakistan. The Chinese government and people are overjoyed by the accomplishment of our Pakistani brothers have made on their path of nation building and it’s always ready to work hand in hand with our iron brother and an all weather strategic partner to achieve greater success on our courses with common interests.
As the third round of China Pakistan Foreign Minister’s Strategic Dialogue set a high degree of mutual trust, mutual assistance seeking peace and promoting development together are the most distinctive features of our China Pakistan relations. And the greatest strength is in moving forward together. Yet we have to admit that our general public needs to know more about each other.
Sino-Pak Ties: International & Regional Dynamics
The changing international and regional dynamics also calls for closer cooperation and coordination of the two countries. Therefore, it is the duty of think tanks, scholars and experts from both sides to write more articles, make more speeches, and create more channels for better understanding of our iron friendship.
Once again I would like to congratulate Mr. Imtiaz Gul for such a comprehensive and eye opening view into “What Lies Behind Iron Brotherhood” what drives the love between China and Pakistan. I firmly believe that the book was behind Island Brotherhood is a flower in the everlasting tree of friendship between our two countries. We encourage more people to join the great course of building a closer China Pakistan community with their future in the new era.
Thank you.
