Organic Molecules on Mars with Life

A recent study of the red planet show that molecules found in 2018 by NASA are consistent with early life. This is published in Astrobiology that the organisms known as thiophenes that are found in crude oil, coal and white truffles on earth also exist on mars. It is also possible that meteor impacts could have also caused these compounds to exist.

The bacteria must have played a vital role in the compound’s existence. These molecules will be studied at the European Space Agency’s Rosalind Franklin rover which will launch in July 2020. Schulze Makuch said that the proof will require us sending people to mars and the astronaut would then use a microscope to further study it. NASA will launch a new rover to Mars, called the Perseverance, on July 17, 2020. This rover will be detecting if there is any fossil like evidence of extraterrestrial beings. The arrival on mars is expected around February 18,2021.
