Prime Minister, Imran Khan launched the “Report Corruption Mobile Application” on Monday in Islamabad in a ceremony held in connection with the International Anti-Corruption Day.
Imran Khan in his speech especially addressed the youth, urging them to use the application to report incidences of corruption. This, Khan said is an opportunity for the youth to secure a better future for themselves. Khan’s vision to eradicate the country’s biggest internal issue i.e., corruption is something he is actively working against ever since sworn in as the PM. According to the Prime Minister, countries like China has been able to control corruption significantly after they identified and jailed hundreds of officials on charges of corruption. Similarly, he gave examples of countries rich with natural resources, but that have a poor economy. In his words, countries can be rich in resources, but will always remain poor if they do not rid themselves of corruption that is plaguing the society. He specifically gave the example of Switzerland where the country lacked resources, but made up for it with a transparent, corruption-free environment
