Pak-Afghan Relations: More CBMs Needed For Regional Peace & Stability

Ammara Durrani is, Public policy professional with 20 years of leadership experience. She is currently working with UNDP. She earlier served as Pakistan Country Director at Search for Common Ground (2012-2014); GM Public Outreach, Corporate Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility at PTCL (2011-2012); Project Director & Strategic Communications Specialist at Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt of Pakistan (2008-2011); and Development Outreach & Communications Specialist at USAID Pakistan (2006-2008).

Ammara has been an active and integral part of the Pak-Afghan Beyond Boundaries Programme implemented by CRSS. Beyond Boundaries is a Track 1.5 diplomacy programme that has brought together all relevant stakeholders from both the countries in a dialogue series to discuss the challenges that the region faces in terms of peace and stability and economic growth possibilities.

In this brief message, Ammara appreciates the efforts undertaken by CRSS in trying to build regional peace and stability through this initiative. She says our region is seeing various security challenges. The continuation of the BB dialogue is a very strong indication as to how the two sides are committed to finding common solutions. Also, a number of women are part of this dialogue, which is heartening to see.
