India violates UN resolution; revokes Kashmir’s special status

India’s ruling BJP, today, introduced a legislation in the parliament to revoke the special constitutional status of occupied Kashmir. The legislation was introduced by Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah, according to which it was proposed that all regulation under Article 370 will not be applicable after a presidential approval.

There was strong reaction against the legislation by the Indian opposition in the Parliament. Moreover, journalists and human rights activists believed that such a move will bring chaos and instability to the occupied valley.

Journalist C J Werleman, while reacting to the legislation, on twitter, wrote:

BREAKING: India has scrapped Article 35 in Kashmir! Modi government has essentially declared war by declaring its intention to officially colonize Kashmir by force. Internet has been shut down in the valley, so that Kashmiris can’t share with you their nightmare.
