Did the US really shoot down an Iranian drone?

Matrix Report

Iran has refuted US President Trump’s claims of the US Navy shooting down an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran claimed that the US instead “shot down their own UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) by mistake”. Tehran also maintained that all of the country’s drones had returned safely to the base.

According to the Pentagon, the incident took place at 10 a.m. local time in the Strait of Hormuz between USS Boxer and an Iranian unmanned aerial system (UAS).

Previously in the day, US President Trump had claimed that a US Navy ship had destroyed the Iranian drone taking defensive action.

In response to Trump’s claim, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister, claimed that none of Iranian drones were destroyed by the US. “We have not lost any drone in the Strait of Hormuz nor anywhere else. I am worried that USS Boxer has shot down their own UAS by mistake!”, Araghchi said.
