Later half of the the twentieth century gave birth to the nation states with stringent borders based on territorial, geographical, religious and racial foundations. The economics also reached its climax with the conquest of the slogan of free economy over the socialist and communist ideals of mutual cooperation and universal benefit.

But with the sudden popping up of the deadly virus – codenamed COVID19, the history seems to be starting afresh.

At time when

  • President Trump was sloganeering the erection of a concrete wall on the border of US to Mexico and was trying to establish a sound economy for Americans by shutting all non Americans out of America.
  • When Great Britain was preparing to finally exit the European union
  • When the West was shying away from the refugees from Syria and other war hit areas of the middle east by tightening their borders and even letting the kids die on their door steps,

a tiny virus descends on the streets of Wuhan, the capital of China’s Hubei province, in December, 2019. It has since gone to infect nearly 218,000 and killed almost 9000 across the globe.

Resultantly, the world is going through the worst pandemic, which according to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is the worst crisis humans are experiencing since the World War II that ends in 1945.

Everyone-

from president Trump to a cart-pusher in the deserted and forlorn streets of Iran; from the sophisticated and technologically driven Japan and Italy to the slums of India and Pakistan; from chilling Skardu, northern Pakistan to scorching hot Sahara – has become vulnerable to the deadly virus.

The whole humankind on the planet earth is on the heel from the invisible monster.

The pattern of the spread of virus is akin to the rise of socialism, after the demise of Karl Marx, the way it spread from Russia to China in the shortest possible time. The Capitalistic West put in all their energies to curtail it.

All of a sudden, the COVID 19 appears to have exposed the weakness of capitalism.

Now we are getting statements like these;

“When we tell people, ‘If you’re sick, stay home,’ the president has tasked the team with developing economic policies that will make it very, very clear that we’re going to stand by those hard-working Americans,” Vice President Mike Pence.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says; “No matter who you are or what you do, right now you should be focused on your health – and not about whether you will lose your job or run out of money for things like groceries or medicine. So today, we announced our plan that will help you and your family’’.

In a video message UN chief Antonio Guterres says; “The crisis (Coronavirus spread) has shown the importance of international cooperation, with governments working together to revitalize economies, expand public investment and ensure support for the most vulnerable.

This shows that in the wake of corona virus the capitalism is day by day losing bit by bit many of its ethos;

 cooperation not the competition is the only way to cope with this fatal pandemic;

all the nations irrespective of geography, culture, creed, sect, religion should pool their resources and disburse in accordance with the needs created by the virus;

donate as per your ability and distribute as per need;

start rationing and delivery of basic necessities of the life at the door steps of the needy;

award full paid leave to the labourers and workers of all the factories and business conglomerates;

no gathering in the name of any festivity or ritual except for the elimination of deadly threat being confronted by the whole mankind are the orders of the NEW WORLD ORDER.

Going through the headlines of the NEW World ORDER one feels to be going through the communist manifesto.

According to Uber and Lyft new policies the drivers who contract corona virus or those who are quarantined will get paid for up to two weeks. These companies have been battling against the state efforts to force them to pay benefits to the drivers. Now, they are ready for paid sick leave.

Similarly, Olive Garden’s parent company, Darden Restaurants, that it would grant paid sick leave to all of its hourly employees.

Apple announced unlimited sick leave to its its hourly employees including retail workers if they have coronavirus-like symptoms. And they wont be required to provide a doctor’s for seeking paid sick leave.

One common threat being faced by the humankind today proves that our salvation lies in cooperation not in competition; embracing and  not distancing from one another is the road leading to survival of mankind on the planet earth; taking care of the down trodden and extending all the basic facilities of life to them can and will ensure thriving of world wealth and progress; trans religious affinity and sympathy not segregated creeds and sects can help us achieve the goal of long cherished paradise. United we stand and divided we fall is the ultimate lesson derived from the ongoing pandemic.
