At the forefront of these initiatives is a collaboration with technology giants Microsoft and LinkedIn. They will provide virtual training and certification programs tailored for Afghan girls worldwide, offering them essential skills and connections to potential employers.
Furthermore, U.S. academic institutions will extend scholarships to Afghan women and girls who have resettled in the United States over the past two years. Details regarding which schools are participating in the program have not been disclosed by the State Department.
Established in 2022, AWERS is dedicated to empowering Afghan women both within Afghanistan and in diaspora communities worldwide.
