What President XI proposed at the APEC Meeting?

At the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting held at the Gyeongju Hwabaek International Convention Center in the Republic of Korea, President Xi Jinping attended the session and delivered important remarks titled “Building an Inclusive and Open Asia-Pacific Economy for All.”

President Xi Jinping was warmly greeted by President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung upon his arrival at the venue.

President Xi Jinping emphasized that APEC has driven the Asia-Pacific’s rise as the world’s most dynamic economic region over the past three decades. Amid accelerating global changes and rising uncertainties, he urged member economies to unite and uphold APEC’s mission of shared growth. Xi called for open, inclusive globalization and the building of an Asia-Pacific community of shared prosperity.

President Xi made five proposals at the APEC meeting in Gyeongju.

  • We should work together to build an open economic environment in the region.
  • We should work together to keep industrial and supply chains stable and smooth.
  • We should work together to advance the digital and green transformation of trade.
  • We should work together to promote universally beneficial and inclusive development.

These proposals reflect China’s commitment to regional cooperation, sustainable growth, and shared prosperity. They also underscore Beijing’s vision of an open, interconnected Asia-Pacific that contributes to global economic stability.
