There have been two universal questions from the beginning of time: A) “What do Men really want?” and B) “What do Women want?” A recent study at Swansea University assessed the relationship preferences of men and women and what they look for in a partner.

This study took a sample of 2,700 students, both males and females, from several countries. All participants were given coins, which represented money, and then asked to invest their money in traits they would most likely want their significant others to have.

The study concluded with one major finding. Both men and women prefer kindness above everything else. For the second most invested trait, men and women had a major difference of opinion – men preferred good looks whereas women prioritized financial stability.

The research showed that if people invested more currency into one trait, the percentage value would rise accordingly. If $40 were invested, that would mean that the trait would rise by 40% than the average human being.

Since the study had volunteers from different parts of the world, skeptics were concerned whether answers would be skewed due to various factors. But it turned out that traits such as kindness, family values and financial stability were universal.

The study also found that people from Western countries preferred humour whereas religion was preferred by the Easterners.

Since we can now answer the two questions about the priorities in relationships, people should make adjustments in their lifestyles to accommodate the preferences of the opposite sex.
