Noorden Mohamed Shaheid, the Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Pakistan, talks exclusively to Matrix Mag on how, with a clear-headed strategy his country defeated the Tamil Tigers after nearly three decades of bloodshed. It triumphed over terror, yet the residue of extremism still exists and represents a challenge, he says. All countries of the region should work together to counter terrorist and extremist threats. It is therefore important for both India and Pakistan to bury their rivalry for the larger strategic interests of the South Asian region.
