PSL Updates So Far…

The 2023 Pakistan Super League is up and running – here is a look at the PSL 2023 points table for the first stage, along with updated net run rate standings.

There are six teams competing in the tournament, with a double round-robin format preceding the knockout stages. The first round of matches will be played in Multan and Karachi before the competition moves to Lahore and Rawalpindi. The league stage will take place from February 13 to March 12, with 30 matches set to be played in the round of the competition.

In the opening match of the tournament, reigning champions Lahore Qalandars beat Multan Sultans in a repeat of last year’s final. The match came down to a one-run victory after half-centuries from Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan. That first game also saw a return to action for Shaheen Shah Afridi after a lengthy injury lay-off for the Lahore Qalandars captain. He marked his comeback in style by dismissing Rizwan to turn the game in his side’s favor.

After the league stage, the top four placed teams will advance to the knockouts, with the top two sides playing a Qualifier from which the winner will advance straight to the final. After one team is knocked out in the first Eliminator match, the second Eliminator match will determine who will join them in the final in Lahore on March 19.
