The Australian Cricket Team’s sheer brilliance gave them an outstanding win against Pakistan’s Test squad.
During the Test match, Australian cricketers showed nothing less than class, where Nathan Lyon took five wickets, while only conceding 48 runs. However, they did not just stop at this one achievement. Australia’s opening batsman David Warner scored a whopping 335, before declaring the innings, with only 3 wickets down. Warner surpassed Sir Donald Bradman’s highest score at Adelaide, and joined the ranks of the top ten highest scorers of Test cricket.
With Australia’s phenomenal win, came Pakistan’s disappointing performance. The newcomers in the team showed no energy, and the experienced players showed no skill. With the bowlers already struggling with their performance in the first innings, the batsmen followed suit, where Azhar Ali, the Test Captain and Babar Azam, the T20 Captain departing early. Even players like Yasir Shah that scored a century in the first innings, failed to perform in the second innings. This was the 13th consecutive loss for Pakistan, in Australia.
Misbah Ul Haq’s return as the Head coach of the team has not been a good journey. The players look untrained and extremely out of touch. The team’s next series is with Sri Lanka, in less than 10 days, and they really need to go back to the nets for that.
