The geopolitical dynamics between the US and China are increasingly shaping the political landscape of Bangladesh and Pakistan. In Bangladesh, the US seeks to counterbalance China’s growing influence, particularly through investments in infrastructure and trade. Washington’s interest in Dhaka is also fueled by its strategic location in the Bay of Bengal, a critical point in the Indo-Pacific region. Meanwhile, in Pakistan, China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects, such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), have solidified Beijing’s presence.
