The examples of success are the people that have a history of failure. People who have struggled in life, have previously found themselves surrounded with difficulties, are the ones that rise against adversity, and better their lives to achieve success. These individuals are inspirational and are teachers for the people that face hardships in life.
When we talk of inspiration, the example of Jim Carrey comes on top. He was 10 when he sent his resume to The Carroll Burnett Show. His father lost his job when he was 14, and they lived in a van on a relative’s lawn. He started performing onstage at 15, where he failed miserably, and was booed off stage. That did not slow him down. He quit school at the age of 16 to pursue comedy full time. When he moved to LA, Jim Carrey wrote himself a cheque for $10,000,000 to visualize his success. He struggled for years before landing himself a big acting job in Dumb and Dumber. Jim put his big cheque in his father’s casket. He is unparalleled in the world of on-screen comedy, today.
Similarly, Stephen King lived in a trailer with his wife when he wrote his books. He and his worked multiple jobs to support their family and his passion. He sold his story after being rejected at least 60 times. Even after he was published, he sold very few copies of his first book. When Signet Books took rights to his books, they sold for thousands of dollars, fiving Stephen King the success and fame he deserved.
These are just two of the most brilliant examples of finding success through adversity. If we follow these examples, and soldier on through the most difficult of times, success is just a few strides away.
