China Concerned About Indo-Pak Tensions, Urges Dialogue

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, India launched military strikes on targets in Pakistan early on the morning of May 7, which met a strong response from Pakistan. What’s China’s comment?

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Lin Jian, addressed concerns about escalating India-Pak tensions, affirming China’s readiness to work with the international community and continue to play a constructive role in easing the current tensions. China urges both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint, remain calm, and avoid actions that may further complicate the situation.

He stated, “China finds India’s military operation early this morning regrettable. We are concerned about the ongoing situation. India and Pakistan are and will always be each other’s neighbors. They’re both China’s neighbors as well. China opposes all forms of terrorism. We urge both sides to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, remain calm, exercise restraint, and refrain from taking actions that may further complicate the situation.”
