Another star, another legend the luminary artist Abid Ali passes away at the age of 67. He was suffering from a liver disease and was being treated at a private hospital in Karachi.
The veteran artist served the Pakistan’s drama industry for a long period of time and won the hearts of many. He was still shining bright until his liver developed severe obstructive symptoms, due to aggravation of his pain the family got him admitted to the hospital on Friday.
Abid Ali was born in Quetta in1952, after serving Radio Pakistan for a short period, Ali launched a successful career as an actor with the PTV drama ‘Jhok Sial’ in 1973. But he was perhaps best known for his role as ‘Dilawar Khan’ in ‘Waris’, the classic 1979 PTV drama serial. He also worked as an actor, director, and producer. He will always be remembered for his prolific work in numerous memorable dramas such as Bunty, I Love You (2013), Diyar-e-Dil (2015) and Aangan (2018). He also appeared in several Lollywood movies; he last starred in the latest Pakistani movie, Heer Maan Ja (2019).
Several stars have shared their condolences through social media today. Humayun Saeed, Ali Zafar, Fahad Mustafa, Ali Rehman Khan Ayesha Omar, Maya Ali etc. have paid respect to the diseased actor.
Rahma Ali confirmed the news last night via her Facebook and Instagram account. Abid Ali’s funeral will be held after Friday prayers at Masjid-e-Ayesha at Bahria Town, and he will be laid to rest in the Bahria Town graveyard.
