The keynote speaker of the Afghanistan Religious Ulema Conference hosted by the Center for Research and Security Studies, Dr. Qibla Ayaz talked to Matrix media after the conference. He said that this is the first time the Afghan Ulema could communicate their concerns, struggles and expectations directly. Religious teaching has been received by the Afghan Ulema from Pakistan and they respect their teachers when it comes to religious matters but the Pakistani Ulema have failed to influence the Afghan Ulema because they lack a systemic, organized change. He further added that the Taliban have their own world view and there is a need to engage with them.
