THE HOE

Sometimes I'll let a weed grow
in the garden
if its form is unfamiliar.
Peculiar leaves,
unopened flowers,
I'll mark the spot
and divert the hoe.
Shadowing such restraint
I've discovered cranesbill,
larkspur,
and scarlet pimpernell.
