Response
to an Untimely Death by Drowning
He
now resents
the flow of time.
He would have it stand still
like the cold, dripping statue,
still.
He
wants to dream
forever, a compulsive dreamer,
an addict, he piles swaying dreams
like cards until collapse.
As fire flares from ash,
dissolves politely,
so grows his dreams.
