contest is over - rules provided as an archive copy.
A
panel of community judges have choosen the best poems to display
on the buses. Poems were judged in two age categories: 17 and
under, and 18 and older. MATRIX
staff and Bloomington Transit employees are ineligible.
One
poem per author. Poems or excerpts of poems should be no
more than 12 lines, each line under 60 characters.
Submissions
must include:
six (6) hard copies of the poem WITHOUT the author's name on the
copies, and a
cover page with:
-
author's name
-
age
-
address
-
phone number
-
e-mail address (if available)
-
and a short (100 words or less) biography should be attached
to the poem copies.
A
computer disk with the poem and cover information would be appreciated,
but is not required.
We
will not consider poems that discriminate on the basis of race,
gender, age, sexual orientation, economic status, color or creed.
Authors
of poems selected to appear on the Bloomington Transit buses will
be notified by phone or e-mail.
A chapbook of the winning poetry will be available for browsing
at public venues after the poems have left the buses.
