WOW:
Bloomington Transit and MATRIX put poems on the buses!
|
In
early 2001 we held a poetry contest open to the Bloomington community.
Winners were judged by a community panel including poets, educators,
and other citizens. The winners enjoyed their poems published in the
local busses of the Bloomington Transit! There were about 50 poems submitted
in each age group,
and the judges all said they had a tough time choosing the best poems.
Congrats to all the winners!

All
100 submitted poems will appear on our site at some date. Our thanks
to everyone who took a leap and shared their poetry with us.
The
winner's poems were published in a chapbook after their tour on the
city buses.
Many
thanks to the judges, Bloomington
Transit and everyone envolved in the Words of Wheels Contest.
We look foreward to more contests in the future! (hint hint, keep your
eyes out for WOW to return this spring!)
