John Sherman Book Release
New Faces at the Crossroads: The World in Central Indiana, written for the International Center of Indianapolis and just published by IU Press. The theme of the book is the recent growth in immigration to our part of the state. I interviewed dozens of immigrants, persons who work with organizations that help our newest residents adjust to the U.S., and many others involved in the dramatic increase in immigration from, literally, around the world. I also did a great deal of secondary research ? obtaining information from websites for the U.S. Census Bureau and other keepers of statistics, books, newspaper articles, etc. Jeffrey Wolin shot photos of 30 recent immigrants and wrote their profiles.
